Open Roof Window

Skylight! (Base Game Only)

STEP-BY-STEP

  1. Build two rooms on top of each other. Use the lowest wall height for the top room. The bottom room should be 10x9 tiles, and the top room should be 10x3 tiles.

  2. Place a half-gabled roof on the bottom room. No resizing is needed.

  3. Duplicate the half-gabled roof and place it on the right side.

  4. Place a gabled roof (regular roof) on the top room.

  5. Duplicate the half-gabled roof again and place it in the center. Make it only 1 tile wide. This will create a gap in the center.

  6. Adjust the eaves by pulling them in to match the image. If the center gap is too narrow, resize the center room at the bottom. Hold Shift to pull in eaves on one side only.

  7. Place another half-gabled roof piece, making it only 1 tile wide. Pull in all the eaves.

  8. Place this piece in the center, on the top room. The side of the roof with a "wall" should face the center of the build.

  9. Pull out the bottom eave (Hold Shift) to create the window. If you have trouble seeing the changes, temporarily move the gabled roof from the top to the side and replace it afterward.

  10. Apply a glass swatch to the roof to create the skylight effect.

  11. Resize everything to your liking. You can now make the window wider or smaller by adjusting the roof width and eaves. Experiment a little! You can delete the wall behind the window to create a more realistic look.
